Pacific Event Cruises Pty Ltd (ABN 72 518 940 637) operates event cruises and casino evenings from Cairns, Queensland. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, book an event or sail with us, and what we do with it.
We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where we handle the data of European guests, the GDPR-aligned practices described in our legal notice also apply.
1. Information we collect
We collect the information needed to run a passenger manifest and a business. That includes your name, contact details, date of birth where age verification applies, dietary and accessibility requirements, booking history and payment confirmations.
When you contact us through the website we collect your name, email, phone number and the contents of your enquiry. When you board we collect photo identification details as required by passenger manifest rules.
We do not collect sensitive information beyond what the law requires for manifest, dietary and medical safety purposes, and we never sell personal data.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to confirm bookings, prepare passenger manifests, cater to dietary and accessibility needs, process payments, run tournaments and contact you about your event.
With your consent we also send occasional updates about upcoming events and season openings. Every marketing message carries an unsubscribe option that works immediately.
Operational messages about a booking you already hold, such as boarding changes or weather notices, are sent as needed and are not marketing.
3. Sharing and disclosure
We share information only where the service requires it: with the vessel operator for the passenger manifest, with payment processors to complete transactions, and with authorities where maritime or gaming law requires it.
Salon and VIP guests are covered by additional confidentiality terms. Salon attendance, results and identities are never disclosed to other guests or published without written consent.
We do not share your details with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Storage and security
Booking records are stored on encrypted systems hosted in Australia. Access is limited to staff who need it for operations, and physical records at the terminal are held in locked storage.
Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on our systems. Identification documents sighted at check-in are recorded as required by manifest rules and retained for the statutory period only.
When records are no longer required they are destroyed or de-identified. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the regulator as required by law.
5. Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Requests are answered within thirty days.
You may opt out of marketing at any time through the unsubscribe link or by contacting us directly. Opting out does not affect operational messages about existing bookings.
European guests hold the additional rights described in the GDPR section of our legal notice.
6. Cookies and tracking
This website uses cookies for basic functionality and to understand how visitors use the site. Details, including how to decline them, are set out in our cookie policy.
No advertising trackers are embedded on this site. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.
7. International guests
Guests booking from outside Australia should note that their information is processed in Australia under Australian law. For European Economic Area guests, the GDPR-aligned commitments in our legal notice apply, including rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability.
By booking with us you consent to the transfer of your information to Australia for the purposes described in this policy.
